Every day, we hear about our shady byaparis evading taxes, grabbing public land and then providing scholarships to our SEE graduates and welcoming 'Indian' Gurus as if they have joined the BJP across the border.
The recent media reports about the passport dalals making hefty commissions and then parking that dough in foreign lands don't surprise us at all. After all, our netas and hakims have done the same 'cash deposits' till the Balen government came to town!
The French security tech company 'IDEMIA' had been paying 12.25% commission to our byaparis who acted as the agent for the company. IDEMIA prints out passports and makes a few dollars while our dalals make the same amount in commissions as well. If we look at the international rates, the commission is actually under 5% for such deals but it looks like our Nepali dalals get away with better commission rates!
These dalals register companies in Hong Kong and Singapore and the commissions get parked in foreign bank accounts so that they won't have to pay taxes on their reported income back at home. This has been going on for decades and we have to give it to our media for not doing actual investigative journalism but rather getting their bottles of whiskey and Dashain Kharcha from such byaparis all these years!
Our 12.25% byapari dalals opened a trading company, Capital Biz Solutions' in Singapore. And then they had another registered company in Nepal called 'Delta Core Pvt. Ltd.' telling us that they were providing technical support for the e-passport project. Same folks own both companies and they are Siddhartha Raj Pandey, Bipin Bassi, Sharad Gurung, Arjun Gurung, and Bijay Raj Pant!
Let us congratulate them for making a killing from government contracts all these years. These same bunch of thieves was also involved in our 'Embossed Number Plate' contracts as well. I guess we will have to dig deeper and also find out how much Deuba, Oli and Prachanda and our senior hakims then made from these deals as well!
Let us hope our Balen government will act swiftly and cancel all passports and ban all shady byaparis from leaving the country for at least a year while they submit all their bank details, both domestic and foreign and get clean chits or get all their asset confiscated and then auctioned off and then maybe we can establish All Nepal Scholarship Fund (ANSF) and provide scholarships to hundreds of thousands of our young ones who cannot afford to go to schools, colleges and even abroad even when they have the grades but lack the funds!
